Close to $3,000 in cash, 12-ounces of marijuana and 6.2 grams of hash were recovered by police on Thursday at University Gables at College Park apartments. Police made the discovery of the drugs after smelling marijuana from outside an apartment door belonging to 22-year old Preston T. Bailey III. After police knocked on the door, they asked Bailey for permission to search the residence. Preston granted the officers permission and that was when they found the drugs and cash. The arrest report indicates the marijuana was hidden in the refrigerator and the dirty clothes hamper. Bailey allegedly told officers that he has not sold marijuana for long, but all of the money officers and detectives found were proceeds from selling drugs. Officers then seized Bailey’s phone to determine if it was used to make illegal drug trades and to possibly make more arrests. The 22-year old was taken to jail on charges of possession of  a schedule 6 drug with the intent to sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bailey will appear in court on May 1st.
