A Christiana man trapped in a 30-foot ravine near Rockvale was rescued by a team of Rutherford County deputies, firefighters and paramedics on Memorial Day off Mount Pleasant Road, a sheriff's sergeant reported.

Someone at Champions Run Golf Course heard the man's pleas for help and found him, Sgt. Bryant Gregory reported. He directed Deputy Barry Singleton to the location.

"He was in a 30-foot ravine in a heavily wooded area," Gregory reported.

Deputies guided Rutherford County Fire & Rescue firefighters, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services paramedics and the Emergency Management Agency Special Operations Response Team to the man's location.

"They were able to successfully rescue the male," Gregory said.

Paramedics took him to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for treatment.
