Have you heard about the Saharan Dust moving across the Atlantic Ocean? It will likely reach Middle Tennessee by late Thursday and spread over the whole area by the weekend according to the National Weather Service.

The NASA aerosol forecast loop below shows the upper atmospheric dust making its way across the state.

The Saharan Dust originates over the Saharan desert. It's typically occurs from June to mid-August and is not uncommon. What is unusual this year is its larger and thicker than normal.

While it can reduce air quality, really the only thing you'll notice are the vivid sunrise and sunsets.
