Just like educators, physicians and other professions, law enforcement officers need on-going training. What the public may not realize is that the Murfreesboro Police Department has built a reputation across the state as being a source for in-service educational programs.

Chief Glenn Chrisman told WGNS News that last week an in depth Crisis Intervention Team Training program focused on helping persons with dimentia and mental illness . . .

Chrisman noted, "As the state's fifth largest city, we feel there is an obligation to train our own officers as well as helping department's across the state with refresher training classes."

He said that last year alone 35-weeks of training offered over 25,000 hours of programs for officers.
