Rutherford County may have to raise property taxes… not to cover a pay raise for employees, but to cover the cost of the school budget. The county school boards budget is ringing in at $281.1 million. In order to cover the cost of the budget, property taxes may have to be increased by 2.5%. On a home that cost $150,000, the property tax would go from $924.45 to $947.78.
