A Missouri pet food company has recalled its Diamond Naturals Small Breed Adult Dog Lamb & Rice Formula dry dog food manufactured on Aug. 26, 2011. Officials with Diamond Pet Foods indicate this applies to samples that were distributed, along with both six and 18-pound bags.
The firm voluntarily recalled the food because of potential exposure to salmonella. Diamond reportedly took the action after hearing about illness among some dogs who consumed the product or from persons who handled it.
In addition to Tennessee, the recalled Diamond Naturals Small Breed Adult Dog Lamb & Rice Formula dry food was also sold in Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.
