Burglars Hit Riverrock Baptist

Burglaries continue to plaque the area. Local churches, homes and businesses have been recent victims.

Riverrock Baptist Church

The Riverrock Baptist Church at 2248 New Salem Highway reported to police that a burglary had occured there over the Memorial Day weekend. Don Heron told detectives that intruders broke in through a rear window. Once inside, kitchen cabinets were ransacked, the lock was broken off a freezer--but nothing was taken from the kitchen. 

According to the police report, it appeared the culprits then moved throughout the church and broke into an office where a Dell Inspirion laptop and other items. When all was tallied, the crime resulted in theft under $500, but vandalism over $500.

Lloyd J. Scott told Murfreesboro Police that intruders got into his Glenwood Drive home. Approximately $300 in damages resulted in the culprits breaking-in through a rear door. However, almost $3,000 in goods were taken from the home. Everything from a laptop computer, big screen TV, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, wedding rings and pictures, lock box and more. 

Bikes

Two Dynoglide bicycles valued at approximately $500 each were taken from a stand at North Rutherford Boulevard apartment complex. Gary Phelps told detectives that the heavy-duty chain that secured the bikes was cut.
