The Rutherford County Beer Board may follow Smyrna’s example and take action on beer permits at stores caught selling synthetic drugs. A total of five stores were caught selling synthetic drugs during a state sting last fall.

The Beer Board will send notices to the five stores in question and ask that the beer permit holder appear before the board on July 23. The meeting will be in the County Clerk’s office at 6pm on the 23rd. During the meeting, the board will decide the fate of the beer permits at the stores in question.

The stores that were sent notices were the Lascassas Market, at Lascassas Pike; Marina Tobacco & Beer, on Memorial Blvd.; County Corner Market, on the Old Nashville Highway; Rockvale Tobacco & Beer, on the New Salem Highway; and Family Market, also on the New Salem Highway.
