Three men from LaVergne have been arrested in connection with a murder for hire plot. Derrick Lyons and Jeremy Martin, both 20 and 19-year old Adrian Shaw were originally arrested in 2011 on conspiracy charges, but were re-arrested this month after a grand jury indictment superseded the 2011 charges. The three men allegedly put a hit out on the parents of a 16-year old high school student in LaVergne. As a result of the hit, the teen was actually shot in the leg. He too faces charges.
Shaw and Lyons were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, four counts of attempted murder, attempted aggravated robbery, attempted especially aggravated burglary, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. Martin faces one charge of conspiracy to commit attempted first-degree murder.
