The race for the property assessor seat in Murfreesboro is turning ugly. A police report was filed by Rob Mitchell who is running against incumbent Bill Boner, suggesting that Boner had removed his political banner. Mitchell reported on Monday that the banner was on a railing at 810 NW Broad Street. According to the official police report, Mitchell says that he called Boner and asked him if he removed the sign and Boner allegedly responded to Mitchell that he had taken the banner down and that it was on his building. Mitchell was advised by police of the warrant process. So far, no charges have been filed.
