Don Wright Announces as Candidate for National President-Elect of The Exchange Clubs of America

Don Wright, Billboard Consultant of Murfreesboro, has announced his candidacy for the office of National President-Elect of the Exchange Clubs of America. Wright currently serves as Regional Vice President for Region 6 for the Exchange Clubs. Wright's nomination came from the floor at the convention. He will face two candidates who came thought the regular nominating process. The other two candidates are from California and Florida.

This action was taken on Thursday afternoon at the organization's National Convention underway near Phoenix, Arizona. The election will take place at the Friday session of the convention. Only two members have been elected from the floor in the history of the 101 year-old service club. They are Larry Street of Houston, Texas, in 1981 and John Hood of Murfreesboro in 1979.

Wright is a member and Past President of the Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro. He is also a former member and Past President of the Evening Exchange Club of Murfreesboro. He originally joined Exchange in 1982. The Exchange Clubs of Americas' National Project is the Prevention of Child Abuse. Locally this is directed through the Exchange Club Family Center on Heritage Park Drive in Murfreesboro.
