The weekend brought about what is described as the first mass Ready Family Reunion. Larry Ready, from near Huntsville, helped coordinate the event. Almost a hundred relatives gathered to share history and family pride. One of their stops was the Readyville Mill for breakfast on Saturday (8/11/2012). For those not aware of area geography, the mill is an easy cannonball shot away from the famous home of Colonel Charles Ready.

The old home still stands, and yes--it's claim to fame is also alive. Half of the home was in Cannon County and the other half in Rutherford County. Therefore, taxes were owed in both counties.
