An unknown man attempted to scam a senior citizen in Murfreesboro. The incident occurred in the Kroger parking lot on Middle Tennessee Boulevard.

The 70-year old victim told police that as she was backing her minivan out of a parking space, a white male walked up and stood next to her van. The man then acted as if the van struck him in the groin. The subject then took a picture of the tags on the rear of the van.

Police say a surveillance video of the parking lot clearly shows that the van did not strike the male who claimed to be a victim. The incident was thought to be a complete scam. The female driver of the van filed a report in case the situation should make it to a local court room in the future.
