The parents of a deceased 3-month old in Murfreesboro have been indicted in connection with the childs death. 24-Year old Siera Copley and 23-year old Trent Hammers were apprehended on Wednesday afternoon and charged with reckless homicide.

According to an investigative report that got underway in April of last year, the parents were using and under the influence of drugs or alcohol when first responders arrived at their home to find their child, Lawless Hammers, lifeless. The report shows that the child is believed to have died in his sleep because the parents were practicing what was called, “dangerous sleeping arrangements.”   Toxicology tests on the mother and father revealed the two allegedly used drugs or alcohol prior to the childs death.

The case was presented to the January Grand Jury in Rutherford County and an indictment was issued for the parents arrest. Both Copley and Hammers will appear in circuit court on January 22nd. In the meantime, both mom and dad are behind bars under a $100,000 bond.
