Motorists will be checked for drinking and driving by Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a DUI Checkpoint Friday night.

Deputies will conduct the checkpoint from 10 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday on state Route 99 ( New Salem Highway ) in front ofRockvale Elementary School , said Patrol Capt. Egon Grissom .

The checkpoint is part of the Combined Messaging Enforcement for Tennessee programs sponsored by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
