State Senator Jim Tracy  (R-Shelbyville) has been recognized for his work in the State Senate by the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association, receiving their annual Outstanding Legislative Initiative Award.

Tracy has sponsored numerous anti-crime bills during his legislative tenure.  As Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, he has also supported key transportation safety legislation.

In accepting the award last Wednesday, Tracy praised the work of the sheriffs.  "This is certainly an honor and most cherished award, as I have tremendous respect for our state's sheriffs. It has been an honor to work with you and I look forward to continuing our efforts to make our streets safer."
