The Jim Tracy for Congress campaign today announced that it raised nearly $450,000 in the first fundraising quarter, a total over six times the amount incumbent DesJarlais was able to raise in his last fundraising quarter where he was unchallenged. In addition to the hefty total raised, Tracy can also boast a low burn rate. The $400,000 cash on hand in Tracy’s campaign account dwarfs the $9,336.00 cash on hand that incumbent DesJarlais posted at the end of his last fundraising quarter. Additionally, Tracy received donations from 469 individuals, a number that is over five times the 88 donations received by incumbent DesJarlais during his last fundraising quarter.
“Jim Tracy’s robust fundraising totals coupled with his strong grassroots organization put him in the best position to defeat the scandal ridden incumbent in the 2014 primary,” said Tracy finance chairman Shane Reeves. “The numbers speak volumes. The citizens of the 4th Congressional District want a conservative in word and deed. A person with high morals and good character someone that they can trust to vote the right way and do the right thing.”
The strong fundraising totals posted by Tracy during his first fundraising quarter builds on the momentum he has established with the overwhelming support he has received from grassroots activists and elected officials throughout the 4th Congressional District.
