The now defunct Bible Theme Park USA that was proposed to be built in the Blackman Community in 2008, would have been open now for five years now had it been passed by the county commission. According to the developers original numbers, this year – this month, the park would have hit their target of hiring 1,200 seasonal workers and 250 permanent full time employees. You may recall developers of Bible Park USA promised to bring in $26 million annually in wages at park’s maturity which would have been April of 2013.

WGNS reporter Eady (Eed-ee) Williams spoke to residents and county commissioners in 2008…

When the project failed to pass in Rutherford County, developers moved their ideas to Wilson County. There, the idea quickly died.

To date, no further discussion of a Bible themed park has arisen in the county commission. At this point, it looks as if no one misses the idea of having a theme park in the Blackman area.
