Are you having a stroke? Now there’s an app that will help you find out - fast.

The American Heart Association’s new “Spot a Stroke F.A.S.T.” mobile app gives you instructions for how to spot a stroke using the F.A.S.T. signs: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty – Time to call 9-1-1.

It also features a stroke symptoms video and a map showing hospitals certified for stroke care. And you can call 9-1-1 directly from the app.

The app is free and available on iPhone and Android.

May is American Stroke Month. Stroke is the No. 4 killer of Americans, taking the lives of 1 in 18 each year, including 3200 Tennesseans. Remember, if you have any of the warning signs, call 9-1-1 immediately. The faster you get treatment, the better the outcome.
