As gas prices inched up a penny this week across the southeastern US, we're fortunate locally to see many discounters here in the 'Boro drop by a penny.
Motorists in the Southeast will see little change, if any, in pump prices this week. State averages for a gallon of regular retail gasoline moved less than a penny in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
The cost for a barrel of oil remained stable last week, as well, and closed at $96.02 on the New York Mercantile Exchange — 2 cents less than the week prior.
The national average price of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.65, 7 cents more than last week. Florida’s average of $3.46 fell 1 cent from last week. Georgia’s average of $3.45 and Tennessee’s average of $3.26 increased 1 cent from last week. In Murfreesboro, many local discounters dropped the price a penny to $3.14 per gallon for regular fuel.
