Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Departments’s Districts 1 and 2 were dispatched to a fire call at a two story townhome located at 417 Kubota Drive around 7:15 on Tuesday evening.

District 2 was the first to arrive on scene to smoke showing from the townhome. Crews entered the structure and discovered heavy black smoke coming from the upstairs area. The fire was located in the master bedroom and crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames.

According to Shift Commander Daryl Alexander, the fire seemed to have started from what appeared to be a fan on the carpet.

No one was injured during this incident. The family was displaced due to heavy smoke and heat damage to the second floor. They were offered assistance from the Red Cross, but were able to find other arrangements.

“Crews did a great job making a quick entry and getting the fire out fast,” said Alexander.
