A burglary suspect was shot after the driver of the truck he rode in struck three sheriff’s vehicles during a pursuit Friday. Suspect Billy Jo Ervin, 36, of 5001 Old Nashville Highway, was treated at Middle Tennessee Medical Center
and transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Deputies were following up on a Murfreesboro burglary on Old Nashville Highway outside the city limits and tried to stop the truck driven by Ervin’s roommate Marjorie Myles, 27, but she refused. Deputies pursued her and Ervin, who was a passenger, from Old Nashville Highway onto Northwest Broad Street and Thompson Lane. Sheriff's spokesperson Lisa Marchesoni says Myles struck Deputy Luis Parra-Flores’s car head-on, then backed up, striking Deputy Michael Moody’s car...
Deputy Luis Parra-Flores fired two rounds at the truck, striking Ervin about 9:45 a.m. outside the First Tennessee Bank on Thompson Lane. Charges are pending against Ervin.
