Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s Districts 3 and 8, Engine 4, and Engine 1 responded to a fire call at Northfield Commons apartments which is located at 2325 Willowbrook Drive. The first unit was on-the-scene around 2:20 Saturday afternoon (6/29/2013).

Upon arrival, crews spotted flames at Building B. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, containing damage to only the side of the building. Residents in Apartment B-1 were displaced due to burned wiring and the meter having to be pulled.

According to Shift Commander Daryl Alexander, there were no reported injuries with this incident. “The fire appears to have started in the flower bed area of Building B.”

He added, “Crews worked fast to extinguish the flames, keeping damage to a minimum.”
